昨天攝影時，司儀仍然請大家比出「戰力強」手勢，蔡總統也欣然照辦，顯示傳言並非事實。
國防部官員指出，「戰力強」口號與姿勢的由來，是因扁政府後期，軍中為了歡迎總統視察各顯「創意」，演變出戴扁帽迎接，或高喊「巧克力，大帥哥」等，引起輿論譁然，遭痛罵阿諛拍馬。到了馬政府時代，國防部總政戰局就下達書面命令，規定部隊迎接統帥時的儀節，不允許自行發明「招式」。
